Eestie Energia AS (Enefit)
Enefit is a public limited energy company headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. Founded in 1939, it is a state-owned enterprise and is the world’s biggest oil shale to energy company with operations in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Utah, United States of America.
Enefit has three main business operations :-
⦁ Power generation;
⦁ Sale and distribution of electricity; and
⦁ Shale oil production.
The oil shale is extracted from its own mines in eastern Estonia for production of shale oil and power generation with 2,000 MW of installed generation capacity.
